Today is a monumental day for space travel, as the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket soared into space from Space Launch Complex-40 on Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida at 3:44 a.m. EDT, making it NASA’s first successful interaction with the world of private space flight. If all goes according to plan, the SpaceX Dragon capsule will dock with the International Space Station on Friday.
